Renault Sport Clio 182 Trophy – Cup – Full Fat – FF – 172

Welcome to the sale of my Renault Sport Clio 182 Trophy. The car is number 417 of 500. The Clio Trophy is the pinnacle of the hot hatch market and even now most will describe it as the ultimate hot hatch Unique to the Trophy over the 182 Cup and Full Fat Model are the Sachs Race Engineered Dampers which were ten times more expensive than those worn by the cup model. Recaro Trendlines, lightweight Speedline Turini’s ,V6 rear spoiler and one off Capsicum Red Paint. I have owned this car since April 2018. I have since sourced a lower mileage model so this is now surplus to my requirements and I cant justify keeping it as it just wont get used. Mint examples cost in excess of 10k with average cars around 6-8k. So this car offers a cheap way into Trophy Ownership. The car itself is on 116k miles and I would describe it as a good used example. I bought the car to be used as a run around as a fun second car and that is what I have used it for. Never taken on track in my ownership. The MOT is Dec 2019. It has the all-important Sachs Dampers fitted and will come with a brand new set of Trophy Eibach Springs which are still in their box. The dampers were re-built in 2017 by Rik Perry. (Well known of Trophy Forum) The Turini’s have been refurbed but two of the wheels the lacquer has started to peel however other than they are mint as per the photo’s. No kerbing and fitted with semi slick track Tyres (NSR’s) two which were replaced in June 2019. The gearbox was rebuilt in 2014 however has started to wine in 5th Gear. All other gears are fine. Extra’s: The Car is pretty much standard except for a KTEC Dog Bone Mount Bush and Slash Cut Rear Exhaust. Previous owner has fitted rear 182 leather seats. My intention was to slowly restore the vehicle since purchasing the vehicle, so I have built up a collection of parts which will come with the car. In my ownership I have carried out the standard maintenance and changed the following parts; Standard Service – Oil, Oil Filter, Gearbox Oil, Air Filter (K&N), Cabin Brand new Injectors x 4 (Bosch) Spark Plugs (NGK) Leads Coil Pack Alternator (Bosch) Handbrake Cables This car requires an element of TLC which is reflected in the price. The car is driven daily so ideal for someone who doesn’t mind getting the spanners out or a cheap way to trophy ownership and restore it as funds allow. The gearbox has started to wine in 5th so my intention was to rebuild the front end. I have sourced brand new springs, powerflex bushes, drop links, new headlights. These parts will come with the car. As the car is due a renewal of its suspension parts. The paintwork in certain areas needs addressing. The drivers ¾ the laquer has started to peel and on the same panel a paint chip which is age related. The rear bumper is cracked. I have sourced a better condition used one with the intention to paint it again this which will come with the car. Front end is showing the usual signs of a 116k car. The windscreen has a started to delaminate at the top. Belts were done in 2015 so coming up to be due. The airbag light sometimes comes on however on research is linked to a connector under the seat, so is on and off. Never really bothered me. The interior is in good condition for a 14yr old car and mileage. Has a retrimmed snappy wheel fitted. These cars are now over 14 years old and as such it does have a few aged-related marks nothing particularly notable, just the odd door ding and chip here and there in keeping with its age. Overall this is a really good used original car which has been well maintained. I have a folder full of receipts and its history/owners documented on the Clio Trophy Forum. This a great opportunity for someone who has the ability and time to spend on the car which I sadly don’t anymore. If you are familiar with these cars you will know just how brilliant they are. I have noticed prices have started to rise for original cars so now is good time to buy, as the prices will only ever increase. I have two spare genuine trophy turini’s fitted with snow tyres which can be sold at extra cost to any potential buyer. Car is located in Cheshire, approx 10 miles from Oulton Park Race Circuit
